Antigrade

Antigrade is a groundbreaking technology in food preservation, designed to keep food fresher for longer without altering its natural state. By slowing the growth of bacteria and potentially eliminating pathogens, it significantly extends the shelf life of food, enhancing its taste, nutrition, and safety. This innovation also reduces food waste and carbon emissions, benefiting producers, retailers, and consumers by lowering costs and improving sustainability. Antigrade is commonly applied through food packaging, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cooling methods.

THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF FRUITERERS

The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers, 45th in order of precedence among the City of London Livery Companies, can trace its origins to before 1300. We are a progressive Livery Company: over half our members work directly in the fruit and produce industry, with the remainder drawn from a wide range of professions across the city and wider community.

Our support for the fruit industry is led by the Fruiterers’ Awards Council, which administers prestigious awards and prizes for excellence, and provides funding for education and research into fruit culture, marketing, and products. The Council also acts as a catalyst for sector-focused educational programmes and supports a scholar through the Nuffield Farming Trust.

We further support the City of London, and our members enjoy the many benefits of fellowship, networking, events, travel, and charitable opportunities.

UZAGROSTAR

UzAgroStar Holding LLC is a national agricultural company created in February 2025 by the Government of Uzbekistan to strengthen the country’s farming sector and boost exports. Its main purpose is to organize and support farmers, household plots, and dehkan farms so they can produce more efficiently and sell their products both inside Uzbekistan and abroad.

The holding unites several specialized “Agro-Star” companies in different regions, each focusing on crops that grow best in that area, such as tomatoes, peppers, berries, potatoes, and others. It helps farmers with seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, modern irrigation technologies, and greenhouse solutions. It also develops storage facilities, packaging centers, and logistics services to make sure products reach local and foreign markets in good condition.

UzAgroStar works to connect Uzbek farmers with export opportunities, providing assistance in meeting international standards, certification, and marketing. It plays a key role in modernizing agriculture, raising productivity, and promoting Uzbek fruits and vegetables globally.

UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION

The Uganda High Commission in London has a responsibility to promote trade and investment between the UK and Uganda as part of its Economic and Commercial Diplomacy mandate.

Uganda is increasing its export of fresh produce such as bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, and peppers, to the UK, driven by growing demand from UK grocers, and a new direct cargo route with Uganda Airlines, which began operating in May 2025. This direct flight helps to reduce transit times, minimize spoilage, and improve the shelf life of perishable goods, strengthening Uganda’s position in the global agricultural market and the UK’s supply of fresh produce.

The Uganda High Commission alongside other Government of Uganda agencies is working to ensure consistent supply volume and maintain quality and safety standards, which are subject to UK import regulations.

Uganda High Commission is keen to facilitate networking between Uganda produce exporters and British buyers and as such is proud to be associated with FPC Fresh Awards and the Supplier Showcase 2025.
